Is the free course really free?
Yes. Module 1 is completely free — no account, no email, no credit card. Modules 2–7 and the final exam unlock when you enter your email address. You can also purchase an individual license ($79) to unlock everything with a key and skip the email gate.
How is this different from ServiceNow's own training?
Official ServiceNow training covers a broad range of products and is necessarily generic.
